Welcome from Hopewell Valley Lacrosse
On behalf of the hundreds of players, families, coaches and volunteers of Hopewell Valley Lacrosse, we would like to welcome you to the 18th Annual Hopewell Valley Invitational Lacrosse Tournament here at Princeton University. As always, the purpose of this event is to showcase the game of lacrosse for the enjoyment of our young athletes and spectators alike. No winner will be crowned; no trophies given. Rather, we celebrate the fact that each and every boy competing this weekend leaves a champion. And, above all, we ask that competitors, coaches and fans HONOR THE GAME.
For nearly two decades, Hopewell Valley has been hosting this event, and we are both proud and honored that many of this year’s teams/programs have been participating in this tournament for more than a decade. As the game of lacrosse has grown, so, too, have the number of tournament opportunities. We are grateful that you choose to come back and play in the Invitational each and every year…THANK YOU! And for those of you new to the tournament, we hope you leave understanding better why these other programs return year after year. And, as always, we look forward to having ALL of you return next year!
We are thrilled that once again our Saturday competitors, and their families, following completion of their games, will have the opportunity to head just up the street from the site of the Invitational to watch the NCAA Mens Lacrosse quarterfinal games at Princeton Stadium. We couldn’t ask for a better day of lacrosse!
Hopewell Valley Lacrosse wants to again extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to Princeton University for their generous hospitality in allowing us the use of their facilities and to those University employees who, every year, do such an incredible job supporting our tournament. We ask that you, too, honor the University’s commitment to us by remembering that we are their guests, and that we must leave the facility as clean as when we arrived. To do so, we ask that each team clean its team area prior to leaving. Thank you in advance.
We would also like to thank the dozens of Hopewell Valley Lacrosse volunteers who make this tournament so special. It is a collective effort to organize an event such as this and thanks must go to the volunteers who commit their time, energy and passion to making this tournament so successful year in and year out.
Finally, no tournament like this can be successful without feedback from you, the participants. We welcome your comments and insights and look forward to the Hopewell Valley Invitational continuing to be THE destination tournament for boys in May.
